I'm beginning to feel I can't compete any longer with sublimation.
When you come to think of the costs, I can only assume the cost of ink will rocket the end price of the product... £201 (plus...
Well, I've had another of my ideas again, but I'm not sure if this one would get used enough to justify the time investment.
Was thinking of building a fancy 'web app' guide to sublimation that...
Thanks to you both, very helpful! :)
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone could offer a point in the right direction as I venture into t-shirt printing.
I've attached a few questions below in the hope that someone can help :)
1.)...
Thanks for your help folks, it's been really useful!
Thanks @GoonerGary, I've had one from Paul before, just wondering if Sublinova ink had pre-made profiles.
I saw the test bottles on eBay, but I agree, I can't justify 4 bottles at £330-odd...
Yes, I meant authorised inks in my Epson printer :)
Do you need an ICC profile for Sublinova Smart or is it supplied?
And can you buy it in smaller quantities (100ml)?
Hello fellow sublimation enthusiasts, I have a few questions.
I was about to purchase a Ricoh 3110DN printer for sublimation, until I noticed the price of the Sublijet-R ink, which put me off....

I've noticed a similar problem with things I make with my flat press, but in my case, the dots rub off with minimal effort with a wet wipe.
How much for all the iPhone cases & mousemats?
Might be a good idea to look into mobile phone tethering :)
I'll try to see if I can pursue a refund or exchange for some refillable cartridges, since the CISS clearly doesn't work/is flawed.
Thanks again! :)
...But the lines are back. Tried head cleaning and realignment, all to no avail. Any ideas folks?
I'd just like to thank you for your suggestion of the Xpres paper - it arrived on Monday, it's fantastic! Colours are less pale now and there is no paper texture in the final result. Cheers! :)
There's about a £2.50 difference between the price of the Xpres paper (P&P, VAT) and the price of TruePix paper, so bearing in mind price is more or less the same, which would you go for?
It doesn't even have a name.
£5.99 for 100 sheets & free delivery if I remember correctly, but I got it purely for experimenting, because I expected wastage while I practiced.
So do you think...
Guys, all seems fine now. Don't suppose you have any ideas on how to remove a the texture from the ink on the mug? I'm assuming it's an effect of using cheap sublimation paper. Am I right? I bought a...
Would refillable cartridges be a better solution? The ink cartridges seem to remain full, so it seems to be flowing from the reservoir to the tubes... Or am I on about something else here?
So I was completely wrong. :frown:
I've been increasing the pressure and increasing the time each time I got a bad result. Thanks for the tip!
Sorry, I got distracted! ;)
It's an EPSON XP-750 with CISS, new with a bit of use, bought from Argos. This issue seems to be solved now. Nevertheless, I'm trying to make the imagery on my mugs...
G'day all,
So I invested in a decent printer. As I expected, the sub dye colours aren't perfect. I'm about to get the printer ICC profiled to solve this, but whenever I print the test sheet there...
How much do they have in them, roughly? I've been buying 100ml of generic sub dye for my EPSON (4 colours) for about £30.
Can you roughly guide me through custom ICC profiles please? Until I can get a bit of a return to fund a Ricoh printer. It's worth a try I guess.
