Would it be possible to mount your A4 sheet temporarily onto an A3 'carrier' sheet, or do you need such a large print run that his would add too much labour/time ?
Or am I missing the point ? (Very...

Hi all.
Similar problem, so I hope Drix doesn't mind my tagging along.
I've just acquired some gx7000 that have had dye-sub inks in them, but I want to convert some of them back to gel inks. ...
An update on my quest for a bypass tray.
I have just acquired a job lot of GX7000's !!
Described as 'spares or repairs', my first task will be to see if any of them work.
However, those that...
Latest update from the firm that were convinced they could supply me with at least the BY1000 bypass "our suppliers tell us they're not available any more".
Well, well, there's a surprise.
Getting...
Surprise, surprise - " We can supply the 1010 in 7 days from receiving the order". Asked for an ETA - "oops, it's no longer available".
However, there is GOOD news. The 1000 is available, so I've...
Thank you BMS for the latest pm, which, as I feared, confirms the non availability of the various bypass trays that I'm interested in.
Quote Suppliers have confirmed they can't get these even though...
Hi ArferMo,
Yes, that's the one that led me to include it in my list on #18, but I haven't yet found any source of its suitability to mod to fit the 7000
Regards
John
I can now widen my request to any of the following BY1000 (for a 3000), BY1010 (for 7000), BY1020 for 7700(but a simple mod to fit the 7000), and possibly the BY1050 for the 7100, but I don't know...
Martin may be on holiday, for all I know, so I don't want to jump the gun, but what was the point of saying they were available, if within a week it proves not to be the case ?
John
I've tried that, Justin, with both a pm to Martin, and contacting BMS through their web site.
Quote from BMS "I made an enquiry with our suppliers about these last week and was informed that they...
OK Martin, so there seems to be a deafening silence from your end ?
I understand that either the by1010 or the By1020(suitably modded ) will do, but where are they ?
Seems to be a bizarre...
Does anyone have any multi bypass tray for a Ricoh gelsprinter for sale, in any condition, working or broken ?
A by1000 would be the next best thing to a by1010, or a by1020, but not a by1040, which...
OK, I'll buy one, if you can supply it.
I'd even buy a broken one if anybody has one, but I'm not holding my breath.
Thinking more about it, I'd pay for the privilege of taking the case off one,...
Bingo !!
John
Thanks piquee, that's brilliant.
Which is why I didn't think of it !
John
Hi guys,
As per my #2, I do have a resettable cart, so I'll switch the ink into that one.
Just needed someone else to suggest it ;)
John
Update - Remembered a third cartridge, a resettable one containing flushing solution.
Put that in, and it was recognised.
Re-tried the Sublijet, but it's still a no no.
John
I've just installed a 'new' set of Sublijet carts (bought off ebay, but I'm confident they are genuine), but the yellow one is not recognised. (Use by date is 31/12/2015)
When pushing them home, it...
ArferMo, I'm giving serious thought to the hacking route.
The only positive discovery I've made is there is a BY1020 tray, which looks identical to the 1010, externally at least, so if confirmed...
Arm, leg, and other bits I suspect !
John
If they don't publish the price, I can't afford it .
Oh, great ! :((((((
Thanks A.
John
These seem to be as common as hen's teeth, but if anyone has one for sale (in any condition!) I'd be happy to buy one.
I'm looking to be able to print short banner type prints up to 20", so I'm also...
Hi Simon, that's a good point. I'd have to look carefully at the possible volume that might be involved, but as I already have two Ricohs doing nothing which would have no support anyway, the...
Thanks Paul. That's exactly the sort of practical detail I need.
Regards
John
Hi Paul, encouraging words.
Did you use a flushing solution between the two inks, or put the new carts in, then power clean till it started to give 'proper' prints ?
Regards
John
