Haven't posted in a long time due to other business development but due to imminent to move to new premises have reluctantly decided to sell our Roland BN-20 - now have a Roland VS640...
we print a lot of badges on metal and echo others in paper down, light pressure - we use 180C (Ricoh) for 50 secs and product results are consistent.
We dunk and remove paper - never had a problem with soggy paper (trupix paper) - but we haven't used silicon pad - have a run to do tomorrow on steins so might try that just to see if any discernible...

Agree with checking platen temp...As the responses suggest IMHO its a case of take the initial suggested settings then experiment wth your own variants until you get what is right for your own set...
