    Bleed on plates and mugs

Using a 3d vacuum heat press, I get a bit of bleed on some of my plates, is this because I'm cutting exactly round the circle and not leaving a few mm of paper round them or is there another reason please?

Also with my mugs some come out perfectly but others either leave a small mark where the tape has been or leave a bluish tint to the mug outside where the paper is attached which is obvious to see due to it being white under where the tape has been,

does anybody have any advice on how to rectify these problems please?

Plates, I suspect it is exactly as you say, try leaving a good few MM of paper.

The tint is dye sub gas "escaping" and then settling wherever it lands. This is normally caused if you are bleeding off the top/bottom and have some exposed ink or if you are using thin paper or the silicon style wraps. I use the silicon wraps and I have found that firstly you need to make sure they are very clean (by leaving them in a hot oven for 30+ minutes) and also make sure you have the vacuum turned on when you are printing a mug.

    Good luck!
