    Rotary Press for Ironing

I've for a while assumed that large format presses were derived from large presses used for laundries, as they would have pre-existed when sublimation became a thing.
One thing that got me thiniing about this more recently is we now run some AirBnB houses and was thibnking what we do in the future if/when we get bigger and want to do the laundry in house, and how we'd do the ironing and if the large rotaries we have could be repurposed (thinking mainly the spare 1 metre wide one we have)

Anyways, today I am doing some last minute Christmas orders, and using scraps/offcuts of fabric as only small orders, so not wanting to use rolls. Some are quite cresed from being stored folded for a while, so I tried soaking them under the tap/in the sink, waving them around outside in the wind to dry them off a bit, and then ran them through the press.

It works - I now have uncreased fabrics to print with, (and it it took more time than just using the roll of new fabric!)

... I now also have a small puddle under the press!

(Am sure I read a while back that a damp cloth running through the press wasa good way to give it a clean, so maybe killing two birds with one stone today!)
