Thought your site looked familiar, I'm also on Wordpress and Woocommerce. Download the Wordfence security plugin. One of my three sites is attacked daily by IP addresses in Italy, it is a common problem.

    Good advice - Thanks Gary!

I have websites hacked in the past but never a WP site - Having said that, I've no intention of taking risks.

In my case, login attempts and failed password attempts, they typically go for wordpress sites.

Ouch - I do usually limit login attempts to 3 but I know that's not really protection against something like this. I'm sure I'll install Wordfence.

Im my case it is I believe hacking attackes. The amount of attempts to try and get into the admin is really bad. Of course they think I am really stupid, because they try for the login:- admin, password etc and for the password 1234, 0000, 9999, abce etc. Now I may be stupid, but I'm not that stupid! Yes I am open to a second opinion!

I have a blocking programme in place an in the last 18 months there have been over 5k attempts to get into the site. Yes I did say over 5k.

Yep. I asked the server people and they said it was bots that were doing a lot of the damage. Also a lot of DOS attacks as well.

It is a charity site that helps ex-offenders back into work, and it has been plagued with attacks for yeasrs. I have, before putting in this blocking programme, had it hacked and porn put on it, as well as other nasty stuff. I only wish these stupid people would get a life, or attack Sony!!

Today so far there has been 1000 attepmts to either get into the admin, or attack the site, already.

    James
