EPSON L800 ( reduce amount of ink)

Hi, i'm a happy owner of EPSON L800 printer with built in CISS.
Printer works very well on sublimation paper and gold sublimation film.

Few weeks ago i have received transparent sublimation film, and when i'm trying to print on it. When choosing the best printing quality, the printer lays too much ink on the film and the image is looking like a watercolor drawing. Same thing on low quality (high speed printing).

Is there anyway to reduce the amount of printed ink?

BTW i'm not using any ICC profile, because i simply can't find it for my printer model.

    Thank you in advance.

in the printer driver you need to change the paper type settings, the ones at the top of the drop down list use the most ink (enhanced matte) and run down to the least ink usage at the bottom (plain paper)
You will need to get an ICC profile made for your printer/ink combination - which standard Epson printer is the L800 based on - this may help find an ICC, but the ICC is as much dependant on your ink type as printer model, so there's no point trying to look for any sublimation ink ICC profile for your printer model, if it's not for the sublimation ink you use.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have used many different combinations of paper/quality settings. Non of them worked good with the semi transparent sublimation film. I will try to change my inks and get the appropriate ICC profile.

    Thanks.

Change your printer drivers. This misshapen due to corrupted/damaged drivers. Update them and then run print test. If needed then use Epson L800 Manual for getting support.

Stupid question, but is the paper up the right way so you are printing on the correct side?

Could be as simple as that :-)

I hope they have worked it out by now as 2 years of head scratching on this would be a swine of a job ;-)

    haha, yes I didn't spot that :-)
