    Printing on inside of mugs/bowls

    Hi there,

I've noticed that some people are making products with text inside a bowl or mug.

Anyone have any idea how they do it?

I've attached a picture of an example.

I thought it might be a decal or something but have no idea!

    Thanks.

Is that the only way to do it?

Also would a pad printer allow you to do personalised things i.e. a different name each time or do you need to have separate pads for each name?

Sorry i'm really new to this all!

You have to photo etch a metal or plastic plate for each image. Blank plates are very expensive and also the image is limited to about 6cm it's a bit like making a silk screen plate.

They would not be pad printed. You would not do personalised items like that due to the expensive set up costs. Insides of bowls and cups tend to printed using the waterslide technique. It can be done digitally, but you will still need kiln's and a small screen print set up to get the best results.

The rolling pin could well be a standard heat transfer or sublimation if a coating has been applied.

But without seeing any of these items in the flesh it is impossible to confirm the exact method used.
