    Getting things straight!!!!

I've only just started out. I'm not doing too bad, other than the fact I seem to spend so long trying to get things straight. So far I have done mouse mats, canvas bags, passport covers, luggage tags, drawstring bags and glass frames.

    Has anyone got any tips?

    1) DIY jigs.
    2) Black border slightly wider than artwork so can position correctly.
    3) Trim artwork so you always have same border space.

Fire an arrow? they usually fly straight. I'm dreadful for fartimg about getting things straight, it's an eye and practice thing really I think if you want some speed. Ive used a ruler for quick checks but it is down to time being lost with all these checks so if there's a foolproof way I'll try it, I even set up a laser level over the platoon of the press but the press isn't bolted down so it moved a bit but that's a pretty good idea if you can stabilise your press, Stanley do one for about £50 .

When you print from your program, always add crop marks if you have the option. not sure if that helps?

Youll find by eye is usually good enough and garmets tend to be unevenly cut ie the shoulders rarely match (not gildan anyway)

Fold the garment in half and give it a quick low pressure press... Open out and lay on the press. Now you have a straight middle line to use as a guide...... I only use this for very large garment.... Otherwise my eye is good enough
