Spare bottle with lid, reduces waste by not having to decant back into the storage bottle. Keep thread clean or cap gets very hard to unscrew....

Finally got around to ordering the 550 with spare bottle as suggested ;-) Just need varnish now, looking at the BC site and also this, anyone used?

For the extra few quid i would go with timeless-the gloss gives a cracking finish & dries very quickly so no danger of any bits floating around in the air & then sticking to the varnish! I haven't tried the one you have put in the link, though i can't see how it would be better than the breathing colour range which is museum quality.
I see Timeless is ready to spray without dilution. At the risk of sounding naive, how long would 2.5/5l last? Just wondering how this would affect overall cost.
Gloss/mat etc, is this just personal taste?

Yes timeless is ready to go. 2.5L would do about 40-50 A1 prints, obviously you can do more the smaller the prints. I ask the customer if they want varnish for £3 extra & they nearly all go for it after i state the benefits, so it more than pays for itself & you will get excellent feedback,i always varnish if the canvas has a lot of black as blacks aren't waterproof & will easily leave fingerprints once touched. I just personally like gloss as it gives a nice gleam + the customers seem to like it-a lot! Hope this helps.
I used the gloss and diluted 10%, think this allowed a bit more flexing when folding the corners. Try Timeless first as we know the results are excellent. Setting up the spray gun is vital, been a while now but I seem to remember it has to be set to produce as fine a spray as possible. Please test on scrap canvas to start - I didn't doh.
My spray area was just a sheet of mdf set at an angle. The canvas is held at each corner with picture framers brown sealing tape which is easily removed after spraying. If you use a board the canvas will flap around if not secured.
Appreciate the advice folks, many thanks. I've been reading the pros and cons of gloss, satin, mat. I've been thinking satin as a good mid point rather than going too glossy.
I have my screen printing washout booth so thought about the piece of mdf angled in there. I assume any overspray would was off as water based?

Never bothered cleaning my board, varnish helped seal the mdf as well. One final thing is to clean the gun components as soon as possible as this stuff does dry quickly. Easy enough in warm running water. Store gun with second empty container to keep clean.

Timeless varnish ordered. I've gone for the satin to see how I get on for now.
