    Phone cases convince me!

I've always avoided printing phone cases due to the constant change in models and customers complaining about cases not fitting properly. Mugs seem so much less hassle to me!

I have a few questions though.

Will aluminium insert cases block the signal strength?
Are 3D cases still a pain to print?
Is 3D printing up to standard?
Insert or 3D, do customers care?

Will aluminium insert cases block the signal strength? - No
Are 3D cases still a pain to print? - Yes
Is 3D printing up to standard? - If you spend a lot of time practicing and try out various suppliers and achieve continuity all aspects.
Insert or 3D, do customers care? They don't really. Price is what they care about more than anything.

3D looks a lot nicer but if you only show a 2D metal option then they will be happy with that.

Sort of agree with Andrew, Only thing I would say differently or add to what has been said is

    A) 3D cases are easy to print ONCE you have perfected the process according to your set up
    b) Although I personally prefer 3D cases they are not as popular overseas, for example the American market much prefer the rubber with insert case, our sales are about 9 to 1 on that.

Cheers social that's interesting. I'd prefer the insert method for ease of printing and zero extra investment in equipment. I thought that 3D was dominating the market now?

I did read an article about full aluminium cases (not sub inserts) reducing the phone's signal strength by a couple of bars. But if nobody has noticed then that's fine!

Now the joys of looking for a quality supplier :)

    Mine come from Coralgraph

They print absolutely top notch, so much so that I have not bothered looking anywhere else for bulk deals etc. I make money on them so am not worried about a few more pennies. Worth getting a few of the transparent cases as well. Although these are plastic and not rubber I really like the finished item on the phone.

I think the key thing here is photography and perhaps a video as well. Distance selling these is the issue, not the actual item itself.

One thing I am about to test is the new 3D case from Listawood. That might go down better with the American market, not sure.

Yes I looked at the Listawood bumper case. I don't put phone cases on my own phones simply because I like the design of the phone itself and I'm not clumsy. It does seem bizarre that you buy the latest phone boasting that it's 2mm slimmer with beautiful sleek curves blah blah, then you put an ugly bulky plastic case on it.

The transparent jelliskin keeps the look of the phone with an added cool design, so I may be tempted. Expensive yes, but I wonder if customers believe that the standard plastic cases protect their phone? Are people buying for decoration or protection, so is there a market for domed covers instead? I'm wondering what customer feedback would be like on those.

Found this on the Conde site:

"The iPhone 6/6s uses NFC technology and the plastic insert works better and does not impede the wireless signals."

Must have done over 5k i6 cases and not heard one bit of bad feedback on signal so really don't think there is an issue there. I wouldn't let sway your decision on what works best for you.
