I use an epson 1500w for that as well, but I am biased as I use them for all my stuff.

I would say that if you're after single greeting cards then of course printing in house is viable and we use the exceptional printer from Canon
    http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/comput...98076-pdt.html

But if you're after high volume gift shop quality then use printed.com and Trucard paper.

Thanks, Ive got the bulk stuff sorted, around £350 per thousand cards in 8 designs(does that sound right ??) I was
just looking to go down the personalised route as well hence photo printer.. I like the look of the Cannon and price.
I will go and have a look.

Ensure they are using quality paper that's all. Trucard is the industry standard for greeting cards. Ask for sample first with envelope.

For our bulk print greetings cards, we use http://www.theimagingcentre.co.uk/
Who are a standard go to place
Their cheapest option is about £250 delivered for 1000 cards of 20 designs
But they have huge range of options for card stock (from GF Smith) along with foiling and embossing etc
