    Cleaning the platen?

In my stupidity, I've pressed 10 high vis vests, and the top cover sheet didn't cover the entire press.

All was fine until I've come to press some white shirts, and find myself with a yellow halo around the graphic on the garment

Lesson learnt, but what's the best way to remove the dye from the heat platen?

I've tried the cleaning solutions we have for sign work, IPA, etc but it's not shifting it

turn the temp up and leave it on for a white to gas off, if you are going to do hi viz you really need a separate setup.

All you need is different teflon sheets. Press between 500-1000 vests a week with t-shirts and other stuff in between. All I do is change the sheets over and never had a problem.

Yes trouble is I didn't use a teflon sheet in my haste, now its transfering from the platen to the garment if its not 100% covered.

We dont do enough to warrant a second press, and I shouls get some teflon sheets the covers the entire bed.

This stuff is supposed to work miracles at cleaning the top platen of a heat press. It is common in the US, but hard to get in the UK.

hi, complete newbie to dye sub and this forum but I've used the EZ Off iron cleaner on my ironing press (for clothes) and it's removed sticky residue from where I've accidentally pressed labels. Fumes are overpowering though so you need good ventilation :)
