    Advertising

Just wondering where you all advertise? Ive tried egay and sold very little. How some people selling on there are still in business is beyond me!

I tried 2 months in a local ads mag and didnt get a single response, even with being on the front page with our lime green advert!

Faceballs is pretty useless although I do run a competition every 3 months where people like and share our advert etc and that gets a bit of business back.

Ive thought about having our www. accross the rear of our vehicles also.

I have a stack of flyers in my friends van rental business which has scored a bit and also a mug, coaster and flyers at a dog grooming place where my sister works.

Thats pretty much it. Ive got a load of flyers here waiting to go out to the local industrial estates but I'm having problems registering as a sole trader / self employed for some reason and would want to get that sorted properly before delving too far into business'. I have registered ME but cant see where to register the business name and where we operate from.

I tried pinterest ads for a short while, then realised I could go bankrupt if one went viral. They brought in loads of interest, but not enough sales in that short period to justify the cost. Anyone tried a google ad, or would that bankrupt me too?

Research Cost Per Aquisition (CPA) that will help you formulate the cost of how much your actual sale will cost. Also I wouldnt worry about a scenario where too many sales will bankrupt you. The quickest way to go bankrupt is lack of sales.

Local facebook groups may be your most cost effective option.

No not too many sales, it's pay per click. So if a pin finds itself on thousands of pinterest boards, you would be landed with an almighty bill.

I read in a magazine this weekend about promoting your business on facebook, here is a tip, Join groups that you have an interest in, i fly drones and fish of a kayak, Get to know the forum/page, introduce yourself as a drone flyer or kayaker not someone who is on the page to sell stuff. then slowly introduce your business and offer a service that appeals to your new friendly group, not too often but enough to remind them that you could sell them something that they like maybe a drone related mug etc
find your own local groups, there will be lots in your area and good luck.

First thing you will need is a Facebook Business / Fan page and Facebook Power Editor tool installed.

From there you can run a series of paid, short life product or service adverts through Facebook targeting your demographics.

You can then re-target the people who engage with your initial adverts by running new ad sets. It's quite a complex, costly and time consuming process, but it is probably the most effective way of driving sales through Facebook today.

The days of sharing posts into Facebook Groups are long gone as your reach will be very low. I will find you a video that explains everything:)
