If it goes well you won't need to upgrade later :-) Each to their own but I can tell you from bitter experience, trying to compromise and cut corners 'can' inevitably lead to you spending more money. Good luck with your purchase.I can see that buying the best would cut the likelihood of problems with printing quality and if my budget wasn't an issue I would go with the best....but it is so as you say compromises need to be made somewhere. If things go well in the future I hope to be able to upgrade.
My mug press arrives today! Excited but I have no printer as yet to practice with, off to put a printer order in. I think I will go for a bundle that includes printer, ink, cartridges, paper and a profile. I've seen the ricoh 3110 for around £170 with CityInkExpress. I've tried playing with prices buying separately but you don't save a lot and then there's the profile to source.

I'm in the same boat, I can't afford Sawgrass inks either. I've been told that Fotorite ink is a good alternative, so fingers crossed!
Will let you know how it goes.
Good luck Srobbo, keep me posted

Just thought I'd chip in here, I have a ricoh 3110dn still with the first set of original carts in when I bought it, is it best to stay with the sawgrass inks (although £200.00 for a set) or go with cityink sub inks and paper?
Is it worth the hassle of flushing an almost new printer for other inks?
Easy for you to say ;-)
