Corel Draw trial expired, which should I buy?

    Morning all!

I need to get hold of a Corel Draw (or Photopaint) download, that lets me customise/use the ICC profile with it.
My images are already made in Jpeg format (my friend makes them in Photoshop), I just need a program to open them with, so that I can customise the colour & print settings to match the ICC profile.

I was using the free trial Corel Draw graphics suite x 8 (the Photopaint that comes with it) but it's now expired, and having looked at the price my jaw has just hit the floor! I only need a program to open photo images, and let me customise the icc and print details. Do you know which the cheapest program would be? I'm wondering if an earlier version would be okay, and whether I need 'photo paint', or 'paint shop pro', or 'Corel draw home and student'. I'm lost!

As the corel draw x 8 had expired, I downloaded a free version of x9, but the icc customising options seem to have vanished from it, it's not the same

    I'm using windows 8.

    I hope someone can help!

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply Logobear,

I've just downloaded paint.net, but I can't see anywhere to customise the ICC profile in there, like with the Corel Photo Paint? Also, when sizing a new document, it's only letting me do this in pixels, there's no option for mm .
