    Compressor advice

I have had a Bambi MD75/150 for years but never used until today.
    I have changed oil etc

AS I understand it, it is meant to shut off when the tank reaches a certain pressure, - but it doesn't until the safety valve releases a lot of air, - and the motor keeps running.
I am guessing this is not what it is meant to do .....
the manual is not any help.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks
    Phil

If it hasn't been used for a while then it is probably worth draining the tank. There should be a drain plug underneath ( let the air out first) and use a drip tray.
Needs to be done every couple of weeks to keep things running smoothly.

This morning it again failed to shut down, - everyone in my shop nearly S**T themselves when it released air pressure! (including Luna the dog)
I have drained tank, changed oil etc as it has sat for ages.
I am thinking it might 'settle down' after a few cycles, - hope it is just a bit gummed up, but since I don't have any compressor experience, I am looking for advice...
    thanks

there will be a little plastic box - probably black with a switch on it to turn the compressor on and off manually. In the box is a pressure switch and my guess is the switch is sticking. Bambis are quite expensive (they run really quietly apart from when the over pressure valve lets go) so it may be worth having it serviced but not by Bambi if you can help it. There will be loads of compressor companies in your neck of the woods.

    Arthur,
thanks, - as I suspected, the stop when pressure reached switch was sticking a bit, - but has now freed itself up.
Keeps my crew on their toes thou, - even Luna dog listens when the compressor starts up!
