tips if you have a chinese press

I have had my press for just over a year, had a few replacement parts etc, platen, handle and controller but touch wood, all is good so far.

I had an issue with the handle, now it wont snap shut onto the base, I had a replacement handle sent out which is a little shorter than the one that came with the machine and has been sat in my cupboard ever since.

This machine came with the base plate which is held on with 2 bolts onto the chassis of the machine, as the new handle is to short (not enough pressure when pressing) I have just put 4 washers on each bolt onto the base plate where it connects with the chasiss of the machine to raise the base plate height so I can now get optimum pressure on anything i print.

Just a little tip if anybody has had or is having a problem like this.

If anybody has any other tips, please post them!
