    New 3D Phone Case Printer...

Out of curiosity, anyone got the price on this new piece of kit....

Sublideck have always been a good machine manufacturer (consumables have always been pricey), and a phone case in 90 seconds seems pretty quick.

I think it's very expensive for an A5 machine, like all those that are sold by UK "manufacturers". Only pro is you have a real after sales service. I don't know the price but all the "european made" machines cost a pretty penny, just see the prices for their jigs...

    It's £2,495 plus £95 per jig.

That's actually a lot cheaper than I thought. If you are in the bulk business of phone cases that will pay for itself within a few months.

Ninety five quid for one jig! I think anyone considering entering this business would be better off buying CNC machinery and just making jigs to sell.

Being tied up to one system of jigs, film and cases leaves you feeling that you are paying over the odds, but if it works smoothly it's a good investment. Only having the choice of white gloss cases is a disadvantage.

I would have thought you would be able to use other suppliers cases (I seem to remember Sublidecks being really expensive), but if not then it would certainly limit the market.

I agree with the running smoothly, if you are looking at something that produces the volume this claims to do then the cost is pretty cheap as are the jigs. But that is dependent on being able to use other supplier cases. I also see a potential problem in their kiosk/retail claim. From my experience, the jigs need to be really hot to get a good case. If this is correct with jigs for this machine using film, then would you purchase several machines (1 for each phone style?) or would you get an oven to keep your jigs warm?

A few years ago I looked at these folks with their "backpack" phone cases for something different.

Conde Sublimation from the USA posted a YouTube video featuring a model that they have taken in to their range from the European manufacturer Technotape.

I am sure that many here are already aware of the company and the new 3D oven. Good to see several companies making machine like these as it looks encouraging for the sublimation market in general.
