    Dark red Ricoh 3110profiles

I'm trying to get a nice dark red color. I've tried Powerdriver and general ICC profiles (Adobe 98 etc) with no luck. I can get a nice vibrant red but if I try to go darker it just turns dark brown/orange. Could you point me towards an Icc profile that works well with sublimation inks for me to try apart from Sawgrass profiles?

Also, in printer properties I change color density from default 5 to a different number, apply, save, and when I go back to it they are all still on default 5? Is this normal?

You need to ask your ink supplier to provide you with the correct profile (sometimes at additional cost).

Yes.. I've tried SubliJet_R_SG3100_v1.0.3 RGB ICC profile and it's not very good. If anyone can point me towards ANY other RGB profiles which can be used with the 3110 I'd really appreciate it. Tried Conde but they won't reply to me.

I'm assuming you're using Sawgrass inks? If so then your supplier/sawgrass need to take a look. If not, powerdriver and other profiles will be useless and you need a custom profile making.

what time and temp are you using?

If it's a Post Box red you are after, then the Ricoh with Sawgrass inks will struggle. I am sure I have seen this on the forum over the years. One of the sales points of the SG400 is that it gives a wider gamut and they make a point in the sales videos of mentioning red.

I always struggled to get descent red. also greys wasn't the best for my liking.
I noticed lack of good red when I was printing Union Jack. After custom icc be made reds are deeper. I dont know if this is at cost of any other colours but I am more happy now.

Thanks.. I wanted to try a few icc profiles with different red RGB/CMYK values to see if it was an ink issue. The closest I've come is C0 M100 Y93 K0 - If I try to select a darker RGB red it simply adds more cyan to that mix and makes a muddy red.

So I don't have to start a new thread, is it right that Photoshop doesn't let me print with a CMYK profile? When it asks for a print space I only have RGB options, I know I should be working in RGB anyway but thought it strange PS was restricting the options.
