    Printing inside mugs

Hi all, I'm struggling to find much info on printing inside mugs. I've been asked by a club if I can print a logo on the inside rim of their promotional mugs. They just want it in black and I thought there must be a workaround for it but I am really having trouble finding it if there is one!

I considered outsourcing but still can't find a price for promotional mugs with print inside the rim. Has anyone any insight on this that they can share. Thanks in advance.

    Sue

You won't be able to sublimate (no coating usually on inside as well as no easy process to heat area with pressure) nor screen print or pad print (due to chemicals and access to area). Only possible chance is decal and curing in kiln.

Basic answer - it cannot be done on small scale environment.

Thanks for your reply :) Never mind, I might look at getting some sticky labels for the bottom of their mugs with the branding that they want. Does anyone know if chongsta is still doing them? I'm just trying to forum member search him as I think his old email address from a previous thread has changed.

If you have a B&W laser then these are what we have used in the past for the bottom of mugs:

Thanks, will have a look - I like the professional look that stamps give too, just looking at prices and options.

Water slide transfer into the rim of the mug and cure them. Pretty sure TMTs water slide worked a treat for us and we cured it in an oven. Ask Alan from TMT he will let you know how to do it. I can't for the life of me remember if it was dishwasher or hand wash safe only.

    Hi Sue,

We are able to decal on the inside of photomugs for you. The best option would be for us to produce the complete item for you, including photo print to outside. How many pieces are you looking for?

    Thanks
    Mel

    Hi Mel

It's only a small club so they're looking for around 20 to begin with to make sure they sell then they would make repeat orders - I know most companies require more substantial orders to make it worth the setup costs. I was hoping it was something I could do myself but it seems to be a trickier job than I thought.
