I got some A4 vinyl sheets from a company called signmakingandsupplies.co.uk, the vinyl was on offer at the time and I wanted some just to try out before committing to buying a roll. Maybe this vinyl was cheap for a reason.... I have received a search from MDP for their vinyl and will purchase a metre or 2 just to try out and see if this causes me any issues.

Ok, I've been threatening to do it but i will be trying this out tonight. I need to press some vinyl on a tshirt for my kids for red nose day. Hopefully i can get it sorted.

I used the settings that Scotty44 recommended and it worked perfectly. I realised that i was using 2 different types of vinyl. One of them felt like rubber which was difficult to cut however it appears to be working now & I managed to create 3 t shirts for my kids for red nose day without any vinyl wastage. I realised i was doing things wrong by completely cutting the vinyl out of the sheet. Does anyone use th clear transfer tape to line up their designs?

I love my Cameo 2. Mostly use 1 or 2 blade, occasionally up to 5. Never 9 or 10!

Initially had an issue with tearing vinyl but solved by setting the Overcut Settings at the bottom of the Cut Settings panel to 0.2 or 0.3 (Start and End)

Also, the Thickness setting apparently doesn't refer to the physical thickness of the material but to the density. The higher the setting the more push (or force) the blade has. You only need a low (about 5) setting for vinyl although each brand is different. Glitter vinyl needs more, say 15. A typical HTV setting for me would be:

    Blade 2
    Speed 7
    Thickness 5
    NO double cut!
    Line Segment Overcut On
    Start Ext 0.2
    End Ext 0.2
