Is that a serious thing? Expensive?

Could just be because the heads are dirty cuz the capping strations are knackered.
I'll get them replaced as a priority I think.
Thanks guys

I have one of them printers (or the later model.... not sure) and pinch rollers can be problematic it seems. Get several designs loaded for a print and cut run and see if it holds it's accuracy for alignment for the cut. Good machine overall though.
I think at £3k you did well in the end.
USING: Whatever it takes to get the job done...
Thanks for all the advice. I'm picking it up on Sunday. Is there anything I need to bear in mind when transporting. I've got a van so space is not a problem but do they travel well. It's a 3 hour journey
The head needs to be l9cked in a certain position for travelling. Do a search and you will probably find a video on YouTube about transporting them.
Machine safely brought home. Spent nearly 5 hours with seller printing off several different types of media and designs and all superb quality. They even threw in in several rolls of media and an extra set of inks.
Very pleased. Can't wait to get it all set up tomorrow

interesting thread as I have the smaller machine .pls keep updating your progress..I had some issues but guys here helped me to solve the issues..
Well,
It turns out my joy was short lived. After getting the machine back to our place we set it all up and started printing. The quality wasn't brilliant. It was quite grainy and not very clean edges.
After several cleans and manual cleans the quality didn't improve much.
It seems that the test printing we did before bringing it home wasn't enough and thinking about it it was all mainly text that they printed. Mistake on my part. I should of got them to print images. Naivety played a big part I think.
We had the Magic Touch rep in to see us yesterday about other things and he put me in touch with a local ex Roland engineer. He came to see me yesterday and it turns out the heads need replacing as the deflections were too bad to get a decent print.
So, to cut a long story short we have bit the bullet and he is coming back on Tuesday to replace both heads, both capping stations, wipers, scraper etc and also flushing through the 3rd party inks that the previous user installed and installing genuine Roland inks. It's an expense that I could of done without but at least I will have a fulling operation machine at the end of it.
Lessons learnt I think.
I will keep you updated as the week unfolds next week.
