    Mug press issues

    Hi All,

Just registered on here, and hopefully looking to get some advice, also hoping to contribute whenever I can.

My son has just purchased (second hand) the Pixmax 6 in 1 heat press machine, along with the Epson XP 205 printer. from a friend of his. he has very kindly passed it onto me to set it all up and to do the printing for him!! (Good of him) :-)
I know it isn't the best equipment in the market place, but have seen the same set up online and people are generally getting fair results.

Anyway I am having issues printing onto mugs, the images on the mugs are coming out faded. I have altered the temp to 400 Far, made sure that there is enough pressure on the mug, and waited till the heat press had gone to the required temp before setting a time of 3 minutes. But I still have the same issue.

Interesting that the colours that are coming out on the mug are just green and yellow, exactly what is being printed off on the paper. Although the image itself has a multitude of bright colours in it. It appears as if this friend of my sons also had issues printing onto mugs, although he didn't say what the issues were. Hoping someone could help me please! Thank you.

What inks are in the printer? Are you using the correct ICC profile? What paper are you using? Have you run a nozzle check on the printer?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.

I have just done all that and printed out a test sheet, along with a new image with black in it and found that it is printing in green. It looks like I will have to pour out the ink that is in it, and put new ink in and flush it all through.

    Kind Regards

Hi, Apologies for late response. Ended up having to purchase a new CISS system. But all fitted and working now. I did a trial on a mug and perfect. Now for the hard bit! Trial the system on a T-Shirt. Thanks to all for your input. :-)
