This is not a process I am familiar with but I am open to anything that works, so long as we can do it in-house on a variety of mug styles.
A google search of ceramic printing and ceramic printing machines brings up nothing, so I am assuming the machines required to do this are not readily available and require custom builds?
Ceramic printing uses decals applied to mugs and then fired in a kiln. Easier to get a dedicated company to do. See http://www.heraldicpottery.co.uk/cer...gitalprinting/
I have employees that need to work, so hiring another company and paying them more than if we made them ourselves using standard sublimation printing isn't what I had in mind. Thanks for the tip though.
From what you have previously stated about production volumes, it may be an idea to bring this production method in house. Reproduction costs are lower than sublimation and blanks can be considerably cheaper. The printing equipment isnt that expensive, its the kiln bit that would be the major learning curve for you.
Nothing that a bit of research couldnt put right. If I was a volume ceramic decorator it would be something that I would invest some research time into.
I had a link to the supplier of the printer for this process, but it isnt on this machine(PC)...google may help you. Its a laser toner print system from what I can remember but has a patented ink system.
