Help please Black print has a green haze

Can anyone help. I'm using a Sawgrass SG400 printer. Recently when printing black text there appears to be a greenish haze around the text.

It has only just started doing this. I've tried different print settings and it is the same regardless what I try.

All the printheads are clear and test prints all come out fine.

Almost at the point of throwing the printer out of the window and getting a new one!!

Rather than throwing the printer out of the window Tony have a look into the sublisplash ink, the black is stunning. If you need anymore info or some printed samples email adam@dyesublimationsupplies.co.uk and he will be able to help you out.

What paper are you using, and what items are you printing onto? Have you recently changed paper type, or item brand, or supplier? Personally, I can't see how SubliSplash would help if you previously had no problems.

I agree with the paper issue for this.

could be a bad batch of paper or even some dampness which is causing the black ink to run and diffuse slightly which would give a greenish haze. Think those childhood games of dropping ink onto blotting paper or filter paper.

The paper I use is the Epson photo quality inkjet paper. I've been using this paper for over 15 years and have never seen this problem before.

I have just noticed that the black ink has an expiry date of Jan 2017, so is most probably what is causing the issue. Shame the cartridge is still half full.

The black is 100% black and sawgrass have not got back to me yet.

Make the change to Trupix paper you'll notice huge improvements. Sawgrass will immediately suggest replacement.

Problem now solved. It was due to the expired ink. One the new ink was installed and the old ink flushed from the pipes the prints started to come out perfect.
