Post Printing White onto chrome vinyl!

I have been trying to print white onto my chrome vinyl with no luck , I make the background transparent as the vinyl is chrome and the font white but when printing nothing appears its almost as if the printer does not recognise theres a white spot colour. The issue only occurs with white no other colours .

    Roland BN20

    Any help would be great.

    Thank You

Happens with my dtg printer. The pure white RGB is seen as transparent. Changing from 255/255/255 to all 254 does the trick, may be the same for the BN 20

I'm not a BN-20 owner but I'll pass on a couple of tips I've come across on the net...

    • Eco inks take more passes to lay down a solid white, the number depending on the substrate.
    • Give the white cartridge a good shake to disperse the solids for better coverage.

In your graphics software (Photoshop, Corel, Paint, whatever...) select all the pure white areas and change the RGB values to 254, 254, 254 (or #FEFEFE in hex). Nearly all colour pickers allow you to type in values.

    Hi Focus1

If your using VersaWorks Dual its very simple.

Save your artwork as an EPS file
    Import to VersaWorks Dual
    Double click on the artwork
In the Quality Tab change MODE to "White"
Then In Special Colour Tab tick box next to "Generate Special Colour Plate" and select "Print area"
This should change the artwork in the preview box to the right.
Then Ok the changes and Print.

    Ricky.

We have metallic ink in our showroom unit but the steps for white ink are the same.
