So I got one of these for a cap order we got a few months back and have subsequently got a ton of orders since, Snapbacks be popular!
Anyways so this thing is a proper pain in the arse. The odd shape of the platen results in a lot of marked caps that need to go in the "things to wear when its raining" cupboard and simply cant be sold - because of the way the metal curved points mark the cap material extremely easily.
So I was thinking, if I could take just under an inch off of the platten curved ends, here:
Then it would actually be a decent press.
I think that platen shape is just steel going by the way it feels weight wise etc but before I try to take the thing apart, I was wondering if anyone had done something similar? If it's hollow in there, then obviously it's a waste of time - if there is circuitry or wiring there, again - can't be done.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome.
