    Cheaper Ink On Photo Slate

I am sure this will have been discussed on the forum before, I have a Ricoh sg3110 printer that I use for sublimation on photo slate I have tried a couple of refillable sublimation inks but they did not work on slate. Can anyone recommend a cheaper solution that has worked on slate other than sawgrass etc as it is just not cost effective to use these inks.

These inks aren't really cheaper than SAWGRASS though are they?

If you are reliant on a cheap ink to make something cost effective then you have the wrong business model.

However, if you are hell bent on knocking stuff out cheap as chips and not overly worried about quality then Nature Inks sell Ricoh gel ink that works for a while. You will eventually bugger up the machine quicker than using decent ink such as Sublisplash but that seems the way these days.

Thanks yes I have seen the sublisplash inks, still pretty expensive. Loads of ink for sale on eBay claiming to be sub ink I have tried a couple, they possibly work on cloths but not slate. I just wanted to know if anyone had success on slate with a cheaper ink. The problem is a local photo shop are selling photo slate cheap. It might just be a case of stop doing it if I cannot scource a descent cheaper ink. I would consider buying another printer if it was more cost effective to run.

Sub ink is sub ink - if it works on polyester clothing, it'll work on slate.
