Hey all, if I want to sublimate an 8oz cup can I use my 11oz heating element or do I need to swap them out?

I have 2 mug presses with 11oz blankets and can do 10oz, 11oz, and also 12oz (two-tone, spoon type) mugs, but think they would be hard-pressed to produce acceptable results outside of that range.
You could try some silicone rubber sheet wrapped around the mug to increase its diameter in the press and maybe alter your timings to compensate for the sheet.
Another, relatively inexpensive alternative, is to buy silicone mug wraps of the correct size and heat the mugs in an oven instead of using a press. I tend to find that the oven method produces superior results to a mug press anyway.

As above. You need a specific heating element wrap for smaller mugs.
