How long does it take to heat up? Has it got even temperature throughout the platen?

    edit:

Found my answer..... Start-up Time : 16 Minutes

    That's a long time!

The Dinos are very slow at starting up, my big 40*50 press can take up to 25 minutes. But yes, even heat throughout.

The Adkins Studio basic clam press also takes 15 minutes to heat up and my own Insta takes longer than I would like, so perhaps there are no 'quick to heat up' presses out there?

The cheaper chinese style A4 swing presses only take a few minutes but the heat distribution is not great in those. I use the Hobby on the road at events - once it's heated up it wouldn't take anywhere near as long to reheat again as it takes a good while to cool down :)

Have you ever tried printing chromaluxe or unisub coasters with this? It looks like a handy press sitting ready for other items. I don't like upsetting the height and times on the main press when everything is printing well.

The height on the Hobby (v1 anyway) is determined by thickness of the rubber mats and your printable item (you'll get various sizes with the press)

So far no issues on printing Unisub coasters however be warned that 6 X 90x90mm is a very tight fit on the platen.

I only use this machine on the road at shows / event - at home i only use my 40X50cm Dino Galaxy auto-open - i can press and unpeel around 250 an hour on this machine with one person operating.
