    Ricoh 3110DN Error SC 28111

    Hi all

I am trying to install a brand new ricoh I have a red light on and it tells me
Error SC 28111 Call service, power off on

Does anybody have any suggestions this is before I even load the driver for installing it, I have turned it on and off a few times, taken the cartridges out and pushing them back in, same error comes back I have tried for the last 2 hours.

    Thanks

From what I can remember about error codes on Ricoh's I suspect you are using faulty carts, possibly refillable carts. I would almost be as bold as to say these are definitely not Sawgrass or Sublispalsh inks.

The reason I say this is because although Ricoh printers are very stable and very reliable, only if they like the ink and carts you put in them, if you use something other than a decent brand they tend to have huge problems like you are having here.

What inks are you using in this machine?

Thank you socialgiraffe for your answer. Yes I am using refillable carts and I think that you are most likely right that it could be the problem. Nobody seems to know what that error code is.

I am using good reputable European inks as they have been highly recommended to me by fellow crafters and I have seen on this site people recommending the inks, so I cant imagine it to be the ink. I am more than willing to buy a new set of cartridges, can you recommend anyone who sells good refillable cartridges?
Once again thank you for giving me some idea of what could be wrong.

    Ink4inkjet
    Never heard of them

Just as a side issue, lots of people in the UK recommend CITY INKS EXPRESS as a decent RICOH dye sub ink. I had nothing but problems using this ink and ended up throwing the printer away. The reason I say this is because it seems to me that all these third party inks tend to be a bit hit and miss on if they work. You may get a new set of carts and still have the same problem.

I also get my ink from Ink4inkjet, they sell Sublinova ink which works perfectly in my Epson WF-7110

Thanks Socialgiraffe for all your info, I will keep it in mind. I had a brand new set of cartridges rushed to me, and have put them in, error has gone. Its ready to go. If it wouldn't have been for you pointing out the cartridge situation, I would still be battling on, thank you :)
