    turn off or leave on

Hi all and a happy new year to you all.

Just wondering, My printer is left on all the time and I am concerned about
a how much ink I am wasting.
b how quick my waste ink collector will fill.

I have a aficio GX e3300n printer which came with a spare collector, I changed that about 9 mths ago.

What I am thinking is do I get another ink collector as a spare as I have seen you tube vids about cleaning them out, so then I would have 1 in use and 1 I can clean.

So is it best to leave on or will the heads clog if I switch it off sometimes it can be off for 2-3 weeks.

My printer is aways ON. This will give me hassle free use as it has out maintain mode and it does suck a tiny little bit of ink every few hours to avoid drying of heads. If you leave it OFF and then turn it on after couple of days it will still waste ink, as head cleaning process will comes on This takes much longer so there is no much savings there. Only if you turn your printer once a week than there could be. But As I said, I always leave my all printers on.

Reference to waste ink tank collector, they can be reset at least twice before they need a change. All my ricohs on same unit and two of them are reset so no need for waste tank collector to change. If you decide to reset, please remember you did so :) I wouldn't recommend doing it more than twice as ink may overflow and make a proper mess :)

    Happy new year!

I leave both mine on all the time, each time you turn it off and on it will charge the tanks wasting ink, not good when its dye sub inks or any inks as it gets expensive over time.
Only problem i have is that my ricoh 3110 has a problem when trying to wake it up, i have to unplug the usb then plug it back it to get it to wake up but still i'd rather do that than waste inks that are £200.00

    Hi Paul,
Both of mine suffered this same problem too, its a bug in the firmware, however Ricoh released an updated firmware that fixes this and it works perfectly, upgraded the firmware and its never happened since. Printers left on for months and print problem free every time
