Best 1st A4 Printer For Mugs?? Ricoh? Epsom?

Can anyone suggest what might be the best 1st printer to buy to begin my sublimation journey. I want to print mugs.

I have been told that Ricoh printers are good but the A4 one I want is now no longer being made, so any suggestions on the best and cheapest first printer you would suggest?

Hi Dalbag123 what do you think are the differences between the sg3110 and the sg400?

Also for anybody that is thinking of starting up with sublimation or investing in new equipment ect we are exhibiting at the Printwear and Promotion show this month at the NEC and will have a SG3110 on the stand demonstrating the Sublisplash ink.

the Richo printers are all dead easy to use and reliable. inks may be slightly more costsly, but all the profiling etc is done for you.
If you get from (eg) The magic Touch they will help you on the way and provide any tec support you need to get started.

Another upvote for the SG system.

As I've noted previously, we bought an SG800 with Sublijet HD ink about twelve months ago, and are into our second set of inks with it. It's not missed a beat, and we've never had a poor print out of it that's not been down to us.

It does have a couple of foibles though - the print isn't fully centred across the paper, though I think that can be adjusted via software settings in the printer, and sometimes it thuds gently on each traverse of the printhead, as if it's slightly overtravelling and touching a stop.

It's likely that we would have tried the sublisplash inks, but we feel that they missed a huge opportuntiy with their pricing, and I do have reservations about what seems to be excessive contrast in the prints shown in one of the comparison/demo videos (albeit that the comparison ink in that particular video was Sublijet R).

I just checked the price difference between the Sublijet HD inks and Sublisplash inks out of interest - at present the latter is around 2.5% cheaper on a set of high capacity carts, delivered...
