Just dont believe its worth it

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PERSONALISED-P...item2ead366fa8

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PERSONALISED-M...item4cf53c05d2

Not splitting to the penny but a rough estimate:

    Mug £1
    Paper and Ink 30p
    Listing Fee 20p (poss 5p)
    Ebay fee 40p
    Paypal fee 40p
    Postage £3.19
    Postage Box 40p

    £5.89

    Why do they do it.

Can't even see that they're going for the mass sales that'll bring in a few pence on each sale amounting to a decent income when they sell 1000's a month....'cause they aint! Not impressed with the samples.

I agree why bother for this much. Postage for that amount can't possibly be properly done surely?

It bugs me to see this sort of thing, it de-values what we all work so hard to achieve. A personalised one off item should carry a decent price tag, folk will pay good money for good quality, well printed items.

The phrase 'busy fools' springs to mind here. I was talking about cameras to someone this week as they have an online shop with a 10% mark up on cost and aren't shifting many at all. They discussed this issue with the wholesalers who said that a similar customer was selling 6000 cameras a month, but the margin was just £1 (gross) per item!

The second link started at £3.60 per mug, and has increased gradually to the stated price.

I agree with Justin, it just makes a mockery of what we do :(

Are ebay fees that expensive on a £3.50 sale?

I doubt his printed mug cost is that much either. He obviously isn't going for the quality market so he probably has the cheapest mugs and ink he can get his hands on. Finished mug cost at about £1 I reckon.

The problem is that it will probably get worse not better. I can't see why they bother when moving low volume and struggling to make a £1.

    Andrew

A business seller on ebay pays 12% final value fee, so on a £3.50 sale they are paying 42p per sale

Wow, ebay are thieving gits. I hate the place with all the dodgy stuff sold on there. They take the money from so many fraudalently sold goods and then plead ignorance that it's not theirs to police what is sold.

    Correction..... rich thieving gits.
