There are a few variations on this.

    You could try:
    7 days 2003 or winch-gras

Theyre not 100% matches but i assume that SPAR wouldve been a custom job for the company.

    Hope that helps a bit.
    Dave.

Posted them both on there, I agree though, I think they're custom jobs.

    recognise this font

Had a look on here and they refer to it as "spar logotype" which I think means its a drawn logo rather than a font or its a font they have made themselves and is unavailable.

    recognise this font

Sorry I didn't respond earlier as I couldn't get on the forum this morn,

You know it really gets me when someone walks into my shop and asks me to print just a"simple bog standard logo" when you find out it isn't.
Years ago when I first looked into doing this I WENT ON A BIT A SPY MISSION (NOT TOO LOCAL) to suss out how everyone else works, I was told by all that if I didn't have a standard font etc then the logos had to be a specific file type to cut. Most of my customers just stare at me with a blank look on their face when I ask about the font :x

What do you do? Request a specific file type, charge extra for creating the file (time is money hey)or say nothing?
I understand that we are not all alike as in our current trading positions and most of you are on line but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who does have a shop or indeed what your thoughts are. (perhaps I should move this part of the post to another section)

    Thanks, Mandy

And this is my third attempt here, it keeps disappearing.

Thanks for your help guys and yep you're right, it is drawn although the bottom one is very similar to Eras bold perhaps in Itallic.

We've now created an ai file for me to cut.

    Thanks guys
    Mandy

    Re: recognise this font

    Hi,

If your just looking to copy a logo for reproduction back to the client then you should try Vecorize or Vectorising services if you're not technically minded. Of course youll have to pay for the services but if you can do vectoring then try that. Have you?

From that you can get the outlines of the font and create cut lines from the EPS files. Its how I do it using Vector Magic/Adobe Illustrator. You can also use Photoshop to create outlines to export to Illustrator as well, handy if you need to magic-wand stuff out etc.

If you need more help then just holler :)

    Cheers
    Dave

I ran a sign shop in Cornwall for 18 years and we always charged for setting up a font or logo, unless it was literally a 5 minute job. If they can't supply it as an AI or EPS ready to go then you charge. I've digitised entire fonts before, upper case, lower case and punctuation. Don't be afraid to charge what the job is worth, it's up to the customer to decide if he/she wants to spend that much.
