thats fatal mate! time for a new printer!

goto ebay for an epson1290 > cheap to pick up and does a good job. then goto citylinkexpress for a CISS system > £40 > then see Paul for a colour profile.

All done for less than £100 all in.

unfortunately I would also have to buy ink as the ricoh cartridges would not be any use.

    Hi Gordon,
Not sure if this is any help but it may be a saving - the link below is for a 5550n which isn't compatible with powerdriver but you could get Paul to make you a profile.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ricoh-GX-e5550N-Workgroup-Network-GEL-Colour-Laser-Printer-/140702872265?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_Printers_Printers_ JN&hash=item20c28b72c9#ht_1419wt_906

I would check that your carts fit and if they do you'll be able to use them instead of wasting them.

Are you sure - shame, thought that the carts would fit straight in the 5550n.
How much ink is left in the carts?

Glad this is now all resolved for you and also thanks to Sawgrass for the upgrade support option provided on this even though the printer was originally bought in 2009/2010 and well out of warranty. I know a lot of people on here lambast Sawgrass, but I think they came through on this.
