i would of thought the vinyl might peel as phone covers are a heavy wearing item
in and out of pockets etc

There are 'skins' available now, but they require a lot of pealing and sticking correctly on the phone. Looks very fiddly to be honest.

I doubt as a consumer that I would 'feel' happy with buying a mobile phone case with a stuck on vinyl sticker. Most people I know consider their phone cases to be what sets them apart from all the other phone users around them. I must admit that even before I thought about entering the sublimation field, I found the sublimation printed cases advertised to have a 'wow' factor that makes them sort after. I have seen these vinyl stickers on psp's and they last about a day before they start to peel. I suppose however if you had a nice vinyl and could get cheap enough cases they might appeal to those whose budget was limited.

With vinyl there is a slight step due to the thickness of the vinyl. Going in and out of pockets the edges/corners will catch and curl. If using printed vinyl there will be the same problem. Also unless the print is laminated (making the 'sticker' even thicker) the print will eventually be rubbed through. In addition with vinyl you will inevitably get a dirty edge as the dust etc from pockets sticks to the fine line of adhesive at the edges of the vinyl.

IMO it's not a good idea.
