Depends on how low is the price! You can spend £500-£600 on a good second hand press or spend less money on a new one. I guess if your doing tshirts you'll need a press around 15" square. You may be able to pick something up for £150 on the 'cheap, but reasonable quality' requirement.

Ebay is a great place to find a bargain on a high quality press - you can get top end (£1000+) presses for the price you would get a new cheap-Chinese one.

The only thing I would add is purchase new if you can.

Think of a heat press like a bloomin great big iron. If the item has been used extensively then (unless it is something like an Adkins or Geo) it is likely that it will not last you that long. Many ebayers will say "hardly used" but treat statements like that with caution.

A cheap one is likely to do you fine, but as a newbie you may want to have the back up from a reputable supplier. I am not saying there are no reputable suppliers on ebay, in fact there are some of the sellers on there also on here. Just do your homework.

A list of suppliers can be found in the suppliers section of this forum. Once you have found the list of suppliers and narrowed it down to two or three, do a search on here to see what others have said about their service.
