    Quality of images for mugs/tshirts

    Hi

    If someone is sending me a photo to put on a mug or tshirt what quality does it have to be, is it a certain megapixel as a min and what format jpeg or ?

    Hi Lisa

    I get them sent in jpeg format, and the higher the resolution the better. Minimum would be 300 dpi. I got one the other day and it was 5mb and it was huge, lol

    300dpi would be ideal but most members of the public wouldn't have a clue. Best thing to say is if they've taken a photo on their camera then give you the file in the size it is. If you want a picture to be, say 20cm x 20cm at 300dpi then a jpg from a camera which may be 80cm x 80cm at 72dpi would be okay as you'd compress the image into a small size and so still get similar quality.

    true but not all ;)
    highest resolution is the most importent. make sure pictures r not less then 800x600 or simillar.
    most of cameras and flat bed scaners making/scanning photographs at 72dpi (dot per inch)
