Hi All, Anyone know these can be used as coasters? I find the rounded corners on coasters not suitable for a lot of square designs. If these display tiles are the same thing only not rounded, or are as durable as unisub coasters I'd like to try some. Not sure why coasters have to have rounded corners anyway, not as if anyone's going poke their eye out with one. .

Have you seen these glass coasters? http://www.longforte.com/glass-coaster-square
Those are cheaper than similar ones on TTP. . Hmm. I wanted isub mdf type ones as the come out bright and highly glossy. The glass ones look classy but much duller.
I emailed TTP but got no response so will ring on monday. I'll post any conclusions here.

if they dont have little sticky heat pads, you can buy those on a roll and apply them yourself

"My apologies for the delay in responding to your enquiry – I had to speak to my supplier before giving you a full answer!
The Unisub display tiles could be used as coasters but they are rather thicker than standard coasters – and a rather expensive option for a board coaster!
I have two alternatives for you – we can get the normal coaster board cut to completely square or rectangular shapes however there are two potential problems with this, firstly the corners are quite sharp and they can also be vulnerable to chipping, both in the pressing process and also in use – the other alternative is the square glass coasters we offer (unfortunately we do not have a photo of these on our website at present!) they are a very good product and do have very square corners."

Although fairly dear, the 4" display tiles are the same price as the unisub coasters (84p in small quantities) so they may be just what I need.

They do look quite thick though that said. . . But the one in the photo, lying flat, with the couple on it, is the 2" one, so that's why it looks so thick, the others look OK.

They are 6.35 mm thick. Almost exactly twice as thick as ordinary coasters. I just stacked two coaster on top of each other. Looks ok to me. Any views?
