Heat Press pressure seems somehow reversed?

    Hi All

I have small flat bed swing press bought from BMS as part of a package. It's been OK but the other day when pressing, I heard like a snapping sound & now the pressure seems somehow reversed.

By that I mean that when I push the handle down there is little resistance, but when I lift up the handle it's hard to do.

Also when pushing the handle down the back spring compresses, however the springs on the left, right & front only compress a very small amount.

Anyone know what may have happened here & how to rectify it please?

    Regards

    Ed

    Hi

There is no clear sign of a model number on the plate, just says Combo heat press, made in China

Is there a spring on these presses that's snapped? Happens with the Adkins over time.

heat press.jpg Hopefully you can see from this image which was taken with the handle press down, the back spring is compressing which causes the metal plate to tilt forwards but the front, left hand side and right hand side to compress only slightly

So there's no separate spring at the back? These 4 springs are presumably there to 'float' the head and give even pressure when applied?

    Hi

No there is no spring at the back, just as you say 4 springs that float the head, the handle when pressed down forces the top the unit to slide down a metal pole which seems to be free of any spring.

Could you take a short video of the problem and email it to us at sales@printerowners.co.uk? We might be able to see something that way. Can you check the base of the cylindrical pole to see if there is anything amiss around that area? The press is our DF18.
