Pressure on heat press - where is 80 psi?

Yet another obstacle. Just watched a vid on The Magic Touch's site showing I need to press for 30 - 40 seconds at 180 C with a high pressure of 80 psi. Well I have no idea how to even know if it's on what psi. Any clues?

Also it seems I was pressing for only 20 seconds. Maybe that's why my transfers end up leathery feely thingy!

    Any help would be marvelous

    Thanks, Julia

If its a mechanical pull down handle on your press 80psi would be about as much pressure as you can set it on and still be able to close it, warning low cost press would probably buckle or break at that sort of pressure.

Joohlyauk - You are in Milton Keynes, you have on your doorstep one of the best garment decorating suppliers in the industry right on your doorstep. The Magic Touch are in
Dunstable and I am sure would welcome you at their offices to go through the various techniques with you.

Be careful, having a look in their showroom could mean you spend a fortune :-)

I have wasted so much money so far. I sold my hand me downs gold which was so precious to me to buy my heat press and bits. I just can't fail or I'll never forgive myself. Was a very massive decision and so far I'm doing it all wrong. Mugs included. Need my angel to kick me up the arse x

I need to start from scratch, sell small but believe in what I'm selling and the quality. I don't like anything so far that I've made over the last two years x
