I get fabric from The Transfer Press and have also noticed the finished look is a lot better if you print before sewing up the item.

Hello,

I took the plunge a couple of months ago and bought some equipment second hand. I have had problems with the printer but with the valuable advice from this site and recommended suppliers from here, I will get there.
