Re: Pulling my hair out - blurry designs

<t>tried that, tried that, tried that. I'm on my 4th brand of mugs, 3rd brand of paper just waiting for a response from the mug press people as I've asked for a new heat mat or replacement press. <br/>
<br/>
I've preheated the base, preheated the whole mug, pressed it upside down...<br/>

Yep. looks like it. I suspected the same so tried adding more tape so that the whole design was flat.

Re: Pulling my hair out - blurry designs

<r>Yes new in January, pressed only about 50 mugs - at least 25 have been blurry!<br/>
It's one of these: <URL url="http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/z/d4sAAOSwu4BV29fi/$_57.JPG?set_id=880000500F"><LINK_TEXT text="http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/ ... 880000500F">http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s ...

Re: Pulling my hair out - blurry designs

Another point I failed to mention is that the best temp/time for this pneumatic press seems to be 150c for 130s, which seems a bit low to me considering most recommend starting at 180/180.

Re: Pulling my hair out - blurry designs

<t>It is in the same place - one side of the mugs near the bottom... but if I press the mug upside down, sometimes it's still in the same place even though it *should* be on the other side of the mat. <br/>
<br/>
All I can think of is that the mug bottom needs preheating, which I have tried.. but ...

Re: Pulling my hair out - blurry designs

Could a silicone mat improve things/disperse the heat more evenly?

Re: Pulling my hair out - blurry designs

<r>I really am at the point where I want to jack it all in. I am getting blurry bottoms of designs regularly. Sometimes every 3 mugs, sometimes every other mug. This morning I printed three that came out perfectly then three with blurry bottoms. See images. <br/>

Re: Fading... help!

Thanks all.

I am returning the press and getting a refund. I'll get shelling out for something of more quality over the weekend. Hopefully this time it'll work!

Re: Fading... help!

OK thanks.
As far as I know there's no temperature setting on this unit, just the time to set.
If this is the case, I'll be sending it back. Anyone recommend a GOOD budget press?
