Re: Cleaning the platen?

Yes trouble is I didn't use a teflon sheet in my haste, now its transfering from the platen to the garment if its not 100% covered.

We dont do enough to warrant a second press, and I shouls get some teflon sheets the covers the entire bed.

Re: Cleaning the platen?

<r>In my stupidity, I've pressed 10 high vis vests, and the top cover sheet didn't cover the entire press. <br/>

All was fine until I've come to press some white shirts, and find myself with a yellow halo around the graphic on the garment <br/>

Re: Sticker printing

Depends how long you want them to last, but for as a general rule we laminate everything that's going on a vehicle, also helps applying it as it's much more manageable.

Re: Sticker printing

<r>Yes you can layer vinyl to make up multi coloured decals, but registration is an issue and the adhesive make's it more challenging than transfer film. <br/>

There's also the time it takes, it's often much quicker and easier to just print a 2col job, unless there's a reason not to.<br/>

Re: Pricing & Margins - A rule of thumb?

<t>We're prominently digital printers (large and small format) as well as producing vehicle graphics, and whilst not the cheapest printer in town, have established a nice client base. We use Clarity to work our prices, and generate quotes, and it doesn't quite work with the DyeSub set up.<br/>

Re: ID card blank supplier

I've done some searching around, and can't seem to find a standard size plastic ID card blank.

Xpres do a metal, but any ID cards I have seen have been plastic. Seems they're available for desktop ID printers, not sure it'll work with the heat from the press?

Re: Sticker printing

We specialise in vehicle graphics, and have a solvent machine, even with solvent ink I would strongly suggest getting them laminated as the ink will scratch, and it will fade perhaps not for a few years.
