Re: SubTHAT! Initial Reviews & Findings
<t>Pricing is outside my sphere of influence (thankfully), but I do know that the pricing was largely based on what the typical upcharge is for substrates with sublimation coating vs. uncoated substrates. <br/>
<br/>
For example, JDS sells sublimatable ceramic tiles (4.25" x 4.25") for about $1 each ...

Re: SubTHAT! Initial Reviews & Findings
Yes, and they're not sold individually, only in packs of 5.

Re: SubTHAT! Initial Reviews & Findings
<r>That is correct Justin - the sheet pricing is <U><s></s>per sheet<e></e></U>, and is sold in either 5-packs or 10-packs. The roll price is obviously per roll. This works out to 5 cents per square inch for the rolls, 5.5 cents per square inch for the larger sheets and about 5.8 cents per ...

Re: SubTHAT! Initial Reviews & Findings
<r>I hope it's not taboo for manufacturers to chime in on review threads, but I just wanted to clarify that the videos that Justin mentioned were made by JDS Industries, not Conde. <br/>

Re: Is subTHAT available in the UK from anyone?
<t>I ran some quick tests today, and with a little surface prep, it appears that SubTHAT has good transfer and adhesion to both copper and brass (without the sandblasting of the surface that I indicated earlier). The surface prep is the same as for aluminum - wet sanding with 400 or 800 grit wet/dry ...

Re: Is subTHAT available in the UK from anyone?
I have not tried it on copper, though I have on brass, which requires sandblasting or other means of roughing up the surface to get the film to anchor. I'll pick up some copper to test it on and report back.

Re: Is subTHAT available in the UK from anyone?
<t>I've tried coated this film thicker, but this causes some of the fluid to ooze out past the edges of the carrier sheet before the curing/hardening chemistry kicks in. The squeeze-out around the edges can generally be cleaned up relatively easily by flicking it off with a fingernail, but some ...

Re: Is subTHAT available in the UK from anyone?
<t>Textured surfaces like brick, stone, unsanded wood, etc. will give different results and effects, depending on the depth of the thickness variation on the surface and "grain size" (for lack of a better term). SubTHAT/SubLam* requires firm contact with the substrate while in the press in order to ...
