He's also a pirate.

It's illegal to reproduce any item featuring company merchandising/logo's without the express permission of said company.

Do you have proof he does not have permission or is it just a wild assumption?

Paul has some so I consider it unlikely he would use anything that was in breach of copyright.

No, it's not a "wild assumption".

Asking for permission is just an email, no great hardship, contact the companies yourself before using their property, that's what I have done in the past to find out. Esso, Castrol etc ....... They always say no, which is pretty much what I expected. Think about it, why would a multi-national company allow any tom, dick or harry to piggy back off their brand?, Knocking out any old tat that could sully their reputation.

Only Paul can show us if he has consent to use them commercially or not. I'm betting he hasn't but I'd be very happy to be proved wrong, because regardless wether Edu Bovoline has permission to reproduce, (I'm guessing a cash strapped Brazilian graphic artist accepting donations for his work, doesn't hold imaging/marketing rights worth thousands, with multiple multinational conglomerates), If you are producing and marketing the mugs, you need the permission, without it you are breaking the law and leaving yourself wide open to prosecution.

If you doubt me, it's dead easy to check with trading standards.

I got them but Only to produce one mug for my self. I didn't even get to the point to do that :)
He is a pirate or not, he still know how to design graphics in my opinion.

Just made my own WD-40 wrap in Photoshop, including the taped-on red straw! These are dead easy to make yourself.

I looked at Edu Bovoline's facebook page after Paul had made the initial post, the fact that he (Edu) had not responded to a query on his page regarding rights for him to use trademarked material was all I needed to see to draw my own conclusions - in addition to the fact that he was unlikely to have the reproductions rights in any case...

Edu Bovoline :
"I have no authorization from anyone to reproduce the logos."
"Unfortunately here in Brazil we do not have great control over trademark infringement, if there were probably I would know more about."
