Is the background really black? In Photoshop us the colour picker on the background and see if it is 100% CMYK. Might be made up of something else giving a purple colour. You might need to change the background to a richer black.

we are using corel draw 's photo paint which says it is black.

Are you using the ICC profile in this software package? I didn't think Photo Paint handled colour correction. You'll need CorelDraw or Photoshop to handle the colour management and then you should get proper blacks in photos.

Hi there,

We were having a similar problem with blacks, although not coming out purple it was a very weak black. We use corel draw a lot and find that for sublimation its better to use the RGB black as opposed to CMYK or it's default colour pallete.

It's worth a try if nothing else.
