Hi
Anyone own a Happy or Brother PR machine? I have a Barudan and need another one but don't have £13k and none come up second hand so am looking at these two. Happy seem to think they are second after Tajima in terms of sales and quality of the machine? Sales guy at Happy said don't get a Brother as they are slow and if you set it at 1000, it only does 800. The Brothers seem to come up on ebay all the time.
Thanks
Lianne

There is a second hand Barudan single head for sale on the Barudan france site. Might be worth a look.
Here is the advert.
Looking for a used machine? Our polish agent ASKA POLAND sales a BEVT-Z1501CBII (330x500/1200). For price or any other information: aska.poland@op.pl

All I know about Happy is that, when compared to Barudan, they are noisy...

I have a PR600 & PR1000e. They may be slower/noisier, I don't know. They have both been reliable & speed depends on design & I wouldn't swap them. My PR600 is over 10 years old now and all it has needed is new needles and a bit of grease and oil.

Thanks Earl, I contacted them and it's a 2013 model and they want 12000 Euro net for it which is basically the price of a new one!

Jools - Have you been using your pr's pretty much all day, everyday, so putting it through it's paces? They only come with a years warranty so was worried they wouldn't cope with being used all the time.

Hobkirk do some Diamond ones which are £7k + vat. I know you get what you pay for but what don't they have that a Barudan or Tajima has? any thoughts re ZSK and SWF?

Sorry, didnt know the price. 12,000 is way too much as a new one is only 13,000€
I have a friend who worked with the old PR machine. She used it constantly and beat the hell out of it. But it still worked after 5 years of battering. The newer versions should be better.
For the really fine work , use the Barudan and for the run of the mill stuff the Brother should serve you well enough.

ZSK are made just down the road from me. Very good machines in the same class as Barudan and Tajima. SWF in the same league as Happy.
My Barudan supplier also has a cheaper machine. Not the same quality as Barudan but about half the price. He sells a lot of them. Ask for Torsten Preiss. 02153 1393973
He speaks good english. http://www.barudan.de/5/home-startseite

we have just ordered another new tajima machine coming next week. will run comfortably at 1000. wouldnt go near happy, they will say they are second to tajima as trying to sell you a machine. our tajima runs 24hours somedays but pretty much 10-12 hours everyday. no problem. i would always buy new as back up is crucial.

Did you have a specific reason for that one over say the tfmx model? Just curious, tajima do seem to hold their value too

Ive just spoken to my Barudan man. His cheaper machine is very similar to the Tajima machine.
Might be worth giving him a ring, Ive seen the machine and they are very good.

tajima is awesome. mine is 2 years old and could still get nearly new price for it if sold it tomorrow. the tmpb has a screen on and a smaller arm for sleeves and will run faster than the tfmx which i already have.

I've got tajima (Neo and TUMX) and Happy hcd02 15. Tajima machines are fussy but the Happy machines run all day every day and only stop for bobbins. Stitch quality is excellent.

I have a voyager as well (replaced original PR machine) and she sews brilliantly. It's faster than a PR bigger sewing field and generally more robust
